You will be encouraged to view public health as a collective responsibility, across organisations and individuals, and will learn to have wider considerations than the remit of health services to include education and the environment.What you will learn on this MPH The course content for this MPH distance learning degree is aligned with internationally recognised competency frameworks including the UK Public Health Skill and Knowledge Framework, and the World Health Organisation ASPHER Core Competency Framework for Public Health in the European Region.Modules will cover core topics, including: Epidemiology Health promotion The health protection function of public health Global health Health inequalities and community action Control of communicable disease Statistics Leadership in global healthcare.
A 2:2 undergraduate degree or a UK Masters degree (or international equivalent) Applicants with qualifications below this level may be considered if they can provide evidence which demonstrates a minimum of two years appropriate work experience. The evidence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. In addition, applicants must also have passed GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or 4) and pass a numeracy test prior to starting the course. Applicants who do not hold a recognised degree will be asked to provide evidence which demonstrates a minimum of three years relevant experience. The evidence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
