Be eligible to apply to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Mental Health Nurse in just two years, on our PgDip Mental Health Nursing course. This two-year course has been designed for candidates with an undergraduate degree in any subject. It will prepare you with the knowledge and skills to support people with mental health conditions. You will learn how to undertake collaborative assessments and apply evidence-based approaches to support recovery and make a meaningful impact as a compassionate mental health nurse. This course is approved against the Nursing and Midwifery Council Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses. These standards set out the knowledge and skills you will learn as the next generation of mental health nurses. Mental Health Nursing students receive a non-repayable Government grant of £5,000 a year, plus a specialist subject grant of £1,000 - see our Fees and Funding section for more details. Top-up to a Masters After successful completion of this course, you will have four years to top up to a Masters degree, via part-time study. Find out more about our MSc Nursing (Top-up). Location This course is delivered at our West London campus. We also offer it at our Reading campus in Berkshire. As you will spend half your course gaining experience on placement, you should choose a course location that you can travel to easily.
