For your clinical placements, you will have an exceptional opportunity to train with the internationally renowned South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, Oxleas NHS Trust or KMPT NHS Trust. You will experience the work of specialist services in areas such as addiction, eating disorders, personality disorders and psychological therapies. Work alongside highly skilled and experienced mental health nurses at the cutting-edge of patient care delivery.
All nursing students on courses from September 2020 will benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year, which they will not need to pay back.
Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
We provide exceptional opportunities with clinical placements within the Mental Health division. You will train with the internationally renowned South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, Oxleas NHS Trust or KMPT NHS Trust.
Our placements will provide you with a vital opportunity to put your first-class theoretical learning into practice, working alongside highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurses. These practitioners are at the cutting-edge of delivering excellent patient care in acute, medical, community and rehabilitation services. Your placements will also provide you with opportunities to satisfy the requirements of the EU Directives.
During your training you will experience the work of specialist services in areas such as addiction, eating disorders, personality disorders and psychological therapies.
How long is my placement?
Placements last for 10-14 weeks, depending on terms.
Do you provide employability services?
Our services are designed to help you achieve your potential and support your transition towards a rewarding graduate career.
The Employability and Careers Service provides support when you are preparing to apply for placements and graduate roles. It includes CV clinics, mock interviews and employability skills workshops.
Each School also has its own Employability Officer, who works closely with the industry and will provide specific opportunities relevant to your own course.
