It's my first time in general to the UK so coming to a place I didn't know was very scary to me but the university was such a nice place for me to come to. The first day I came I was in awe of how pretty the glenside campus was and the surroundings it looked like something out of a fairytale as I went in and looked around the place looked amazing I got to meet some amazing people at the campus and get to know everyone, the campus facilities were excellent from the rooms to the library and my favorite place to relax the hub cafe. The university has a great social environment to with a lot of events and societies to join which is a good chance to meet new people and make friends on terms on accomodations it is a bit pricey compared to other options in the city. The university in general offers a great support for students in every aspect whether it is for looking for part time, any sort of help or any concerns and even for career opportunities once u graduate. If you're looking for a supportive environment to study, meet new people and enjoy your university life then you've made the right choice in choosing UWE Bristol

Glenside Campus is tailored for students in nursing, midwifery, allied health and related disciplines. It offers industry-standard practical facilities such as clinical skills labs, a replica hospital ward, optometry suites and advanced simulation environments where students can practise real-world skills safely before clinical placements.  The campus fosters a focused academic community, with a healthcare library and open study lounges designed to support group and individual study. This can help students concentrate on their rigorous programmes without too much distraction. Situated in Fishponds in north-east Bristol, Glenside is set in a more suburban, greener area which many students find inspiring and conducive to study. It’s still connected to the city by frequent bus routes, but offers a quieter alternative to the bustle of central campuses.  You can live right on campus in shared flats that keep your social life and studies close together, with cafés, shops and communal spaces nearby. Being able to walk to class or meet peers impressively strengthens the sense of community.  Students on health-related degrees benefit from early, hands-on clinical placement opportunities and established relationships with NHS and healthcare providers in the region — boosting confidence and employability.  While there are regular buses to the city centre and to the larger Frenchay Campus, some students find services like the No. 46 bus unreliable or infrequent, especially outside peak hours. This can make travel to placements, city life or other campus resources slower than ideal.  Some student feedback suggests that campus flats (especially older ones like The Hollies) can be expensive compared with off-campus housing and may lack en-suite options or modern upgrades. Room quality and internet connectivity in accommodation are often cited as areas where facility investment could help.

There’s a clear effort to make learning interactive and relevant, which makes a difference compared to just sitting through long lectures with no connection to practice. The facilities are another strong point. The campuses are modern and well-equipped, especially the libraries and specialist learning spaces. There are quiet areas for focused study and group spaces for collaborative work, so you can choose what suits you best. The environment feels professional, which helps you take your studies seriously. The atmosphere at UWE is welcoming and diverse. There are students from many different backgrounds and countries, so it feels open and inclusive. It’s not overly competitive or intimidating, which makes it easier to focus on your own progress. You feel like you belong, regardless of where you come from. Being in Bristol also adds a lot to the experience. The city is lively, creative, and full of things to do. There are parks, cafés, events, and cultural spaces, so student life feels balanced. You’re not just stuck between lectures and your room. The city environment makes university life more enjoyable and memorable. There are also plenty of societies, clubs, and opportunities to get involved beyond academics. Whether it’s sports, volunteering, or cultural groups, there’s space to build confidence and meet new people. University at UWE doesn’t feel limited to just coursework — it feels like a full experience. Overall, UWE Bristol provides a strong learning environment with practical teaching, supportive staff, modern facilities, and a vibrant student community. It prepares students well for their future careers while also giving them room to grow personally. That balance is what makes it such a great place to study.

trong clinical placements UWE has solid links with NHS Trusts across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. You usually get a wide variety of placements (acute wards, community, mental health, GP, etc.), which really helps you figure out what kind of nurse you want to be. Early and frequent hands-on experience You’re in placement pretty early compared to some unis. It’s intense, but by the time you qualify you’re usually confident with core skills and real-world nursing pressures. Supportive lecturers (mostly) Many of the nursing lecturers are ex-nurses or still clinically active, so their teaching is practical, realistic, and very “this is what it’s actually like on a ward.” Good facilities The Glenside Campus has decent simulation labs and skills rooms. Practising scenarios before placement genuinely helps with confidence. Overall, the course fosters professional growth, resilience, and compassion, and supports students in becoming safe, skilled, and confident nurses ready to make a positive impact in healthcare.

UWE Glenside is a great place to study because of its calm, green campus, supportive staff, and excellent health-focused facilities that make learning practical and hands-on. The friendly atmosphere makes it easy to feel welcome and focused. It could be improved with better transport links, more social spaces, and upgraded accommodation, but overall it’s a lovely and inspiring place to study.
