This exciting Networking and Cyber Security degree is the only one of its kind in the North East that focuses solely on networking and cyber security and has been developed with input from industry professionals. You will build secure networks, assess the vulnerability of networks and carry out open source investigation. You will use analytical, methodical skills and have a curious mind with the ability to make decisions and problem solve. You will use industry standard Cisco equipment as well as network simulation software and learn python programming and Windows server administration, all from tutors with extensive knowledge and experience of networking and cyber security. You will also have the opportunity to study a Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) qualification of your choice. There is a real skills gap in the cyber security sector for experienced professionals who can troubleshoot and find solutions. Each module of this degree programme has been developed with input from industry to ensure you study content that is relevant. Through studying this degree, you will develop professional skills such as communication, problem solving and teamwork. As part of this course you will gain real-work experience by working collaboratively with local employers on a range of projects to meet business needs. You may also have the opportunity to attend industry conferences. Once you complete your degree you may choose to progress onto our BSc (Hons) Applied Computing (Cyber Security) (Top-Up).
