This course is primarily intended for candidates who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry, have not met their expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances, or have had previous commitments to sporting performance. It also caters to mature students returning to education and care leavers.Loughborough University's Foundation Studies programme is designed to support a diverse range of students in achieving their university aspirations. Its streamed approach enables progression onto multiple courses within a chosen stream, offering students additional time to determine which course best suits their interests.The foundation programme is suitable for:Students who have not studied the necessary prerequisite subjects for first-year entry into their preferred course;Students who did not meet expected entrance requirements due to adverse situations, such as illness or caring responsibilities;Mature students or care leavers;Students performing at an elite athletic level who face the challenge of balancing study with high-level sporting competition.Students enrolled in the course are full members of the University, with access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities, support services, and the outstanding student experience offered by Loughborough University.The course is offered within either the Life Sciences stream or the Engineering, Maths and Physical Sciences stream, depending on the subject areas selected.
