Course highlights At Birmingham, you'll enhance your research through our wide-ranging expertise in Musicology and specialist facilities. Attend a variety of solo and ensemble musical performances from visiting performers at our state-of-the-art concert hall. Our library collections include special collections focused on 20th-century English and Baroque music, plus manuscript and early printed sources, and microfilm collections. Conduct your PhD research from anywhere in the world through our online distance learning option. The Centre for Electronic Music brings together research staff and students at the University of Birmingham studying and creating electronic music. We welcome applications involving electronic music.
You are normally expected to have a good Honours degree (typically a 2:1 or above), or an equivalent qualification if you were educated outside the UK, usually in a relevant subject area.
