**Course overview**- Delivered by industry professionals, including visiting directors and musical directors, this unique and mainly vocational course equips students with fundamental performance and creative skills, ensuring a solid foundation for a range of careers within Music Theatre and the Performing Arts. - The programme includes Musical Theatre and New Music Theatre strands, ensuring an holistic training and diverse performing experience, supported with academic rigour. Students take part in a full-scale musical theatre production in each year, and a major devising project in 2nd and 3rd year. - The individual attention the students receive as part of their training at UCLan is without doubt part of the reason for the success and high retention rate of the course. The course has a 100% pass rate with the majority of students graduating with a 2:1 or 1st award. Most graduates go on to successful careers within performance and related areas. - Each year the course takes a Graduate Showcase to an invited audience of industry professionals at a London venue. Venues have included the Soho Theatre and the Jermyn Street Theatre. - The University Chamber Choir is made up of Music Theatre students.
