BA (Hons) Music Production & DJ Performance equips graduates with the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a music producer/DJ/performer in today’s competitive music industry. Students learn music production/composition/remix/sampling techniques using a DAW, DJ skills, electronic music performance skills, VJ skills, and about the music industry and key revenue streams so you can start your music career upon graduation.
The curriculum has been designed to reflect industry, with an emphasis on practical skills using the latest software/technology and music industry practices. Our lecturers have extensive industry experience (e.g. Pharrell Williams, The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack), as well as qualified expertise in teaching at degree level. In addition to industry-based techniques, graduate skills which are valuable to employers are embedded into the programme. These include writing and presentation/communication skills, research skills and critical analysis.
The culmination of the degree involves embarking on a specialist project in a chosen area of focus, enabling students to produce a tangible portfolio of work.
