If you have the potential to study at degree level, but you dont meet the entry requirements, a foundation year can bridge the gap – laying the groundwork for entry into Year 1.

The modules youll study are designed to build your confidence and bring you up to speed for the rest of your chosen degree. So, as well as the Academic Practice module, which helps develop your study skills for learning at the degree-level, youll also study a selection of humanities modules.

Once you have successfully passed your foundation year you will progress directly into Year 1 of your linked honours degree. This programme leads to the award of BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism.

Career prospects

Successful completion of the foundation year guarantees automatic progression into Year 1 of your chosen linked degree.

Graduates of BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism develop a number of transferable skills well suited to a broad range of graduate employment opportunities. Possible roles include print journalism, digital publishing and editing, broadcasting, researching, media development, freelance writing, specialist journalism, working for news agencies, public relations departments and public sector press departments. Previous graduates from our Information and Communications courses have been employed by new media companies not only across the Northwest, but also nationally.
