The programme includes core mandatory modules, named clinical modules, and negotiated modules to cater to individual learning needs. It is tailored for a range of healthcare professionals looking to develop their ultrasound practice.
On successful completion: You will gain evidence of clinical competency, which supports employment in various settings. Note that while sonography is not a registerable healthcare profession, and the title 'sonographer' is not protected, many organisations, including some NHS Trusts and private entities, do employ sonographers from diverse backgrounds.

Students should have BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in a health care subject. You will usually be required to have achieved a 2.1 Honours degree, but consideration will be given if you have a 2.2 Honours degree with appropriate experience and satisfactory references. Have registration with a relevant professional body i.e. HCPC, NMC etc. Students without professional registration may still be accepted but will be counselled in relation to employment prospects.OR Be a medically qualified doctor with MBBCh or equivalent and registered with a relevant professional body. We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
