Health visitors are key to improving the health and wellbeing of families from pregnancy to starting school. They promote health, prevent ill health and reduce inequality (Source: Health Careers). There is soaring demand for health visitor support and large gaps in provision across the UK (Source: Saphna survey, Jan 2025). Our course will help you graduate as a specialist community public health nurse. We focus on three themes: promoting child health and wellbeing in a global society supporting children and families with complex health and enhanced support needs improving the outcomes for care experienced children and those in need of protection. Close links with practice partners Our teaching team has close working partnerships with our practice partners. This ensures our curriculum reflects up-to-date standards and practice. We develop our curriculum with: NHS partner organisations (NHS Forth Valley, NHS Tayside, the Highland Council and NHS Western Isles) the Care Inspectorate people who use health services.
