During the course you will work with world leading researchers, practitioners and professional bodies to develop the skills needed to acquire, develop, manage, adapt, value and dispose of property and land. You will be equipped with the most up to date industry knowledge, essential for your career. This will include considerations of sustainability, energy efficiency, facilities management, building information modelling and automated valuation. A central part of the course is a week-long field study visit to Barcelona.

The commercial and professional partnerships at the heart of this Master’s course gives you the opportunity to immediately network with industry contacts and learn from sector experts. The Real Estate International MSc has close links with RICS Matrics, which is designed to support new members entering the surveying profession.

Accredited by the RICS, the MSc Real Estate International provides all of the academic theory and professional knowledge you need to become a built environment professional. Over 95% of our students are employed within 6 months of the course ending and most before this. Of these students, 85% are employed within the top 20 recognised international real estate firms. A median starting salary for graduate surveyors working in the built environment is around £26,900, going up to £48,000 once fully qualified.

You are welcome to join this change of direction degree from any discipline or academic background. The course is geared towards professionals or graduates, keen to gain Chartered Surveyor status, or pursue a fast track route into the property and construction industries and allied project management services.

Your Career

You will graduate from this RICS-accredited course with all of the academic requirements for graduate membership, ready to undertake the two years’ professional experience you need to become fully chartered.

With a long history, well established links in the property industry and excellent graduate employment rates, this RICS-accredited Real Estate MSc is perfectly placed to help launch your career. Graduates can expect to earn an average of £26,900. If you go on to do your two years in industry and become fully RICS qualified, this goes up to around £48,000.

The kind of roles you can expect to be prepared for include; surveying roles in commercial real estate, valuation, corporate real estate, planning and development, investment and finance.

The practical experience that you will gain in land development and property opens the doors to careers in urban planning within the public and private sector while the emphasis on investment and finance offers access to the banking and investment sector.

The core skills you will develop offer routes into the allied industries of project management, construction and town and city management. Our current graduates work for corporate financial institutions, government organisations, local authorities, government and private clients across the UK and further afield in roles such as surveying, investment, property valuation, planning and development, and property management.
