This module is concerned with developing your planning, control and decision-making skills in the context of programming and execution of complex projects.

On this module you'll develop a co-ordinated professional approach to the assessment and management of risk. This will be in relation to construction engineering and management processes, building services systems and installations, fire safety, security and insurance.

The aim of this module is to consider the requirements and applications of health, welfare and safety legislation relevant to construction, engineering and associated industries. You'll develop your understanding of health and safety and the development of systems and cultures. This will be taught with an emphasis on human factors and continuous improvement processes.

In this module you will investigates the issues of quality management for construction and related engineering organisations. You will explore issues of quality assurance standards, management procedures and cultural approaches.

On this module, you'll evaluate the role of the Project Manager looking at the human aspects of project management. You'll develop requisite attributes and skills for the professional Project Manager.

During this module you'll develop your generic and sector-specific advanced project management skills required in the AEC and related supply chain business management remits. It'll provide a basis for critical thinking and analysis, cognisant of the three core drivers of: sustainable development, internationalisation, enterprise and employability.

You will be provided with the opportunity to develop and showcase your skills in independent research and produce a high standard dissertation, fit for publishing. You will be required to couple both academic research and investigation skills in order to study and reflect critically on a specific field within your sector.
