All about the course

The MSc/PgDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Professional Training) is structured as follows:

Professional Training:

  • Years 1 and 2: Complete two 30-credit modules each year, leading to a Postgraduate Diploma.
  • Year 3 (if pursuing the MSc): Complete a 60-credit dissertation to earn the full Master’s qualification.

Programme Structure:

  • Year 1: Study two 30-credit modules each semester.
  • Year 2: Study two 30-credit modules each semester. You can choose to work on a dissertation in the final year if you’re aiming for the MSc.

Full master’s (MSc) award: The MSc includes a dissertation, allowing for detailed research into a topic relevant to your practice.

What will I be doing?

The course is delivered part-time, requiring attendance on one day per week (either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the year of entry). Key learning methods include:
