This programme provides Registered Adult Nurses, who already have a relevant degree, with the opportunity to study Midwifery at Masters is course equips you with the skills, knowledge and professional insight needed to become a registered midwife. Whether it's helping women during pregnancy and birth, or giving support to new mothers, you learn through doing, building your confidence as you go. Graduate ready to excel as a fully rounded Midwife.
This degree will build on your skills and knowledge as a registered adult nurse to work as part of a multi-professional team and develop you into an autonomous registered midwife. Having already gained a degree in adult nursing, you will start your studies at level 6 and progress to level 7 in order to gain a masters degree at the end of the two years.

Potential students applying through UCAS should demonstrate: A strong GCSE profile of 5 GCSE’s at level 4 (grade C) or above, including English, Mathematics and Science; Evidence of recent study (within the last 10 years); Relevant work experience (paid or voluntary); Registered Adult Nurse, Part 1 NMC registrant, relevant degree BSc or above usually with 2:1 or above. Enhanced DBS and Occupational Health clearance is also mandatory, along with two satisfactory references and evidence of relevant work experience (paid or voluntary) and recent study (within the last 10 years). Applicants are initially screened to ensure they have the required academic qualifications. Registration on the Adult Nursing part of the NMC register is also confirmed. All eligible applicants will undertake a face-to-face interview with members of the programme team and clinical partners.
