Our MSc Marine Engineering Management course responds directly to the real needs of the maritime industry and will equip you with the essential marine engineering skills needed today and in the future. These skills are highly valuable in view of the rapid technological development and disruption in the sector and the forthcoming "4th Propulsion Revolution''. The course, delivered by the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Studies, is academically challenging and professionally oriented, and our specially designed modules will enable you to study clearly defined marine engineering management areas and specialise in your topics of interest. The MSc course combines a thorough understanding of the theoretical concepts of marine engineering, along with case studies and practical subjects. Near to the international maritime centre of London, the course is of specific interest to international students and maritime professionals who seek an in-depth education and knowledge development in the traditional yet developing marine engineering management sector.
You should have an honours degree (2:2 or above) from a UK university or equivalent. Merchant Marine Academy graduates or holders of equivalent qualifications can be admitted. We will also consider mature applicants without a first degree, as long as they possess: the highest-grade certificate of competency (CoC) for unrestricted service as a master mariner or chief engineer, or equivalent maritime qualifications AND substantial relevant professional experience competence in English language, demonstrated by an internationally recognised standard test (see the full English language requirements below) computer competence (at least the ability to use Microsoft Office). We may also offer applicants a place based on relevant experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications are considered individually.
