Develop the skillset you’ll need to build a successful career in journalism. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced reporter, this course will enable you to explore a changing industry. As part of this course, you’ll: Enhance your ability to write well and to tell compelling stories Develop your understanding of the very latest communication tools and technology Explore social media, search engine optimisation, crowd sourcing and user-generated content Study the traditional media platforms of newspapers, television and radio Work placements You’ll be encouraged to get hands-on journalism experience. We have contacts with an array of media organisations who can offer invaluable work placements and employment opportunities. Previous students have enjoyed work experience with BBC Newsnight, Reuters and The Independent.
Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
