Our MSc in International Security and Risk Management will facilitate the development of strategic skills and advanced knowledge in the concepts and theories that underpin global security challenges including including cyber threats, terrorism, complex and organised crime and the challenges posed by states and non-state actors. Embedded through practical and simulated learning, students will develop specialised and transferable skills in preparation for employment in public or private sector services, while having the opportunity to develop new solutions to complex challenges by undertaking wide interdisciplinary study. This course, by leading academics from the International Centre for Policing and Security, is aimed at those who seek to develop their career prospects in the world of public, private and military security sectors. In recognition, you will be able to tailor your study and research interests by choosing from a range of option modules and selecting your main research topic.
A 2:2 Honours degree in a relevant subject or appropriate professional qualification(s). Relevant subjects include, but are not limited to, Policing, Criminology/Criminal Justice, Sociology, Business Management, Public Services, and Psychology. Your application should demonstrate a clear interest in the course. Those without the formal qualifications above are encouraged to apply if they have relevant experience in the sector. You will be considered on an individual basis where appropriate experience is taken into account.
