Metanoia Institute's TA psychotherapy qualification provides an in-depth training for those planning to take up a career as a psychotherapist. The course takes place over four years, with twenty days of training (ten weekends) each year. The course includes theoretical input, skills training, personal development and practical experience of working with clients. As well as following the clinical diploma route, students on this course can at the same time, opt to gain the MSc in TA psychotherapy, awarded by Middlesex University.
Students in the third year and above, can also opt to take the Metanoia Institute Clinical Diploma in TA Therapeutic Counselling, which is gained via additional study days and a written and oral examination.
Students graduate from the TA psychotherapy course through successful completion of the Certified Transactional Analysis (CTA) examination, which is accredited by the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA). This course is also accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
