About the course
This MSc programme, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, will enable you to develop a deep understanding of the marketing manager’s role in a truly international environment.
Students enhance their ability to function as part of a project team, developing the critical skills which underpin strategic decision making in areas including market research, digital marketing, international marketing and global trade.
Our unique, holistic approach to marketing helps you achieve an organisation’s short-term objectives and long-term goals.
You are introduced to the main theories and perspectives of marketing, and to their value and limitations in use. The programme also explores the role of marketing within the organisation and how different national contexts may impact what we think of as universal marketing principles.
What you'll study
You will develop key professional and research skills, as well as an understanding of ethical business practice. You will also undertake a final research project, which can be either a dissertation or a business-based project.
Future prospects
This programme prepares you for a career as a marketing manager.
Careers support is available from the Student and Graduate Centre for Professional Success which is the central point of contact for connecting students and business.
Bringing together employability activities from across Hull University Business School, it offers support such as mentoring and CV writing workshops. Students can also gain experience of working with business through a year in industry or short-term internships and projects.
The programme is designed for graduates from any discipline with a strong interest in marketing management. However, we do recommend that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of this area or business studies. You will have a minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree or international equivalent, one academic reference and a good command of English.
