The Healthcare Leadership MSc explores Healthcare Leadership from both a practical and evidence-based perspective.

Healthcare is a dynamic sector and leadership is a crucial area to ensure high quality and safe patient care. The programme offers a national and global perspective on healthcare systems and is based on current research and practice. Students will have the opportunity to develop their leadership knowledge and skills. It will develop their understanding of healthcare organisations as a basis to improve practice, support patient safety and sustain students’ long term leadership ambition.

Our modules focus on the development of self as leader, how leaders support change, innovation and problem-solving. Other modules promote quality and safety in healthcare and also explore healthcare policy from a global viewpoint. Connected to this we expose students to a diverse range of peers who are healthcare professionals from other healthcare systems in order the maximise learning.

The final Capstone module allows a deep exploration of a leadership issue chosen by students analysing the evidence and reflecting on their leadership journey through the programme. We also develop the analytical and reflective skills required to be an effective leader as well as the academic skills commensurate with Master’s study.
