Introduction
Modern healthcare is complex – and as a result, management and leadership in the health and social care sector is increasingly important worldwide. Our Masters degree is designed to make sure you gain the knowledge, skills and emotional tools you need to meet these requirements. Study by distance learning over two years, and develop your full potential as a leader.
As an MSc Healthcare Management student at ARU, you'll explore the different factors – including social ones – that influence the way organisations and teams are managed and led. You’ll learn alongside other current and aspiring managers and leaders from a range of health and social care organisations. As it’s a distance learning course our students can come from around the world, bringing a truly international perspective. Our Masters in Healthcare Management let's you fit study around work or other commitments. While you may be learning remotely, you’ll still become a part of the postgraduate community at ARU and receive full support from our dedicated tutors.
How you'll be assessed
Your work is assessed in a number of ways for different modules; this can help you at a later stage when you’re developing submission evidence for management and leadership professional recognition. Assignments include reports, presentations and a portfolio.
Careers
As an MSc Healthcare Management student, you’ll gain an essential, all-round knowledge of health service management and leadership approaches. Of particular value is the ability to identify and develop health service corporate marketing strategies; and to address the need for and application of transformational change programmes. As a graduate, you could choose to pursue a career in public services or global non-governmental organisations.
Students should normally have a good first degree or equivalent and be currently working in or have recently worked within the arena of Management and Leadership. You do not necessarily need a professional qualification for access to the course, but do need to meet the above criteria and demonstrate a strong interest in Management and Leadership.
