This dynamic course combines management studies with a strong specialist focus on global logistics, operations and supply chain management. We welcome applications from both business and non-business graduates, with an interest in a specialist Masters education. You will develop your operation, production, service management, leadership competence and confidence within a business context. We will focus on applying these skills globally and in manufacturing, service and public sectors in order to prepare you for a high earning career in business. The specialist logistics, operations and supply chain management modules cover strategic procurement and logistics, sustainable supply chains and risk management, improving the operations and supply chain, and strategic partnerships. Our assessment strategy is based on our understanding that everyone has different needs, strengths and enthusiasms and so this course will appeal to various types of learners. You will have the option of finalising your studies with a traditional Masters dissertation or, a more hands-on consultancy project, where you will tackle an issue faced by a real client. The course has the credibility of being accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) (CILT). Such accreditation facilitates the process of gaining chartered status, which is associated with higher salaries and promotions. The course includes a focus on developing leadership and management competencies. Topics studied include emotional intelligence, intellectual competence, cultural awareness and the ability to work in diverse groups and teams. There is a specific focus on self-development, including formal sessions with our Careers and Employment Service which offers a range of workshops, one-to-one advice, and networking opportunities. Our graduates typically go into graduate positions in areas such as operations management, materials management, purchasing, advanced logistics, and quality management. Roles of recent graduates include supplier quality manager, continuous improvement manager, procurement manager and consultant, quality manager and consultant, transport consultant, distribution services manager, e-commerce operations manager, freight account manager and logistics project manager.
