MSc Environmental Health programmes equip you with in-depth knowledge and technical expertise across all areas of environmental health practise. From food safety and microbiology to pollution control and public health promotion, you'll master the scientific principles and regulatory frameworks that underpin modern environmental health protection.
Through strong industry partnerships and research-led teaching, delivered by our Food, Life Science and Engineering staff, our programmes bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practise. You'll engage with real-world case studies, tackle authentic challenges and develop the analytical skills essential for informed decision-making in complex environmental health scenarios.
Alongside your taught modules, this programme focuses on developing advanced research capabilities through independent investigation. You'll complete a substantial dissertation project, allowing you to explore a specific area of environmental health in depth whilst contributing original knowledge to the field.
You'll complete an independent research dissertation worth 60 credits, developing strong analytical and investigative skills that are essential for environmental health professionals. With flexible study options including September and January intakes, the programme is designed to enable you to work in the environmental health sector - including as food safety or environmental consultants - or progressing doctoral study or research careers.
