Energy-efficient communication systems and networks – our research s supported by a £5.9m EPSRC programme grant. Our work has been taken up by a number of industrial partners, most notably the GreenTouch consortium. Our School has over 100 years of research history, leading to outstanding impact from our research. This includes pioneering work on: microwave, semiconductor, and terahertz technologies, bio-nano and quantum technologies robotics ultrasound and medical imaging energy-efficient green communications networks wireless and mobile communications power electronic systems and renewable energy. As a postgraduate researcher, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a number of workshops offered by the University and our dedicated researcher training and development hub.
You must have achieved a bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons), or equivalent, or a good performance in a Masters level course in a relevant subject. We also recognise relevant industrial and academic experience.The minimum University language requirement is IELTS band score 6.0 - with not less than 5.5 in any skill area or Internet based TOEFL 87 (with not less than 20 in listening, 20 in reading, 22 in speaking and 21 in writing).
