Electrical and electronic engineers are at the forefront of developing new technologies. A wide range of industries rely on innovations in the field – robotics, transportation, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, communication and entertainment, to name a few. The intertwining of computing and manufacturing into Industry 4.0 is ensuring a strong and growing global demand for highly skilled electrical and electronic engineers. Overall, the career opportunities for well-qualified graduates are excellent. The University of Bolton's IET-accredited MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering aims to build on your undergraduate degree to equip you for a specialist role in research or product design and development. We offer specific pathways in embedded system design and renewable energy technology. Our expert tutors will support you as you learn to critically apply your knowledge of engineering, science and emerging technologies to investigate and solve industrial and research-related problems. We'll focus on helping you learn to use advanced software tools for modelling, simulation and design. Your studies will also further develop your analytical problem-solving, critical communication, presentation and transferable skills. We'll work to prepare you to play a key role in the implementation of Industry 4.0 technology in the electronics and power engineering industries, from the perspective of design and industrial applications. Additionally, the course is designed to address all the competencies set out by the Engineering Council and UK-SPEC, and to support you to achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status when combined with a relevant undergraduate programme.
