All about the course

Course structure: The MSc in Diabetes Care offers both full-time and part-time options, with four 16-week semesters. You can complete the course in one to three years, with the following awards available:

  • Full-time:
    • Postgraduate Certificate: 2 modules, 5-10 months
    • Postgraduate Diploma: 4 modules, 10 months
    • Master's: 4 modules plus dissertation, 1 year
  • Part-time:
    • Postgraduate Certificate: 2 modules, 1 year
    • Postgraduate Diploma: 4 modules, 2 years
    • Master's: 4 modules plus dissertation, 3 years

Standalone modules: You can also take individual 30-credit modules for continuing professional development, including:

  • Diabetes Complications and Care in Marginalised Groups
  • Diagnosis, Classification and Prevention of Diabetes
  • Therapeutic Advances and Self-care Management in Diabetes Mellitus

A Bachelor’s degree with honours from a UK University, normally an upper 2nd or above degree in an appropriate subject; An equivalent academic or professional qualification from the UK or elsewhere, i.e. incorporating study at least comparable to 120 credits at level 6; A Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate from a UK University. We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
