The University has a lot of new facilities and they’ve done a new building called spectra where I study at most of the time it has all the equipments you need with really good lecturers, accommodation is nice and staff are respectful

There isn't a whole lot to do in the surrounding area, but the campus itself is great. Events are always fun, quality of education is generally pretty good, facilities like Spectra and the LRC are great. Solid uni overall

The best part of this uni is the hash-spcs team as they have helped me with balancing my health issues with my work load. The worst part would have to be how long it can take for some lecturers and program leaders take to respond to emails about concerns or alternative stuff to help me out

The university provided a lot of facilities to the student. They provided well libraries, laboratories, and research centres. They also provided a lot of sport facilities.

I am actually pursuing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the University of Hertfordshire as a postgraduate intake in January 2026 and have found that living in university accommodation has really helped with the transition into an intensive course of study. The course is quite challenging, especially in the areas of machine learning and robotics integration, but the lab work and project components help to make it seem more application-oriented and less theoretical. The lecturers are quite accessible when it comes to talking about research ideas, which is helpful at the master’s level, and the Learning Resources Centre has been a lifesaver during times of intense assignment work. While living in university accommodation has helped to alleviate travel stress and make group work and networking events easier to attend, better communication about response times during busy periods would be helpful. The University of Hertfordshire offers a dedicated and application-oriented environment for postgraduate students who are proactive and motivated, especially in highly competitive areas such as AI.

I’ve been living on the College Lane campus since January 2025, and there are definitely positives. Each court has its own modern common room, the campus stays lively with sports sessions, craft activities, and regular events, and it’s easy to make friends because everything is happening around you. I was expecting something big for Halloween — like students dressing up and roaming around campus — but that scene never really happened. Instead, the university clubs hosted three days of Halloween parties with the same playlists, so it didn’t feel very special. Still, the campus overall has a good vibe and the Oval (accommodation reception) is usually responsive. The problems started when I booked my September room very early — around June/July — to secure on-campus accommodation. For nearly £1,000 per month, I expected the room to be in proper condition, but it wasn’t. The blinds were scratched, the desk and cupboards were chipped, the walls had marks, and the door was damaged. Even after reporting everything multiple times, only a few repairs were completed, and at one point I was told I should feel “fortunate” they could fix certain things. That didn’t feel fair considering how much students pay and how strictly payments are handled. Overall, living on campus is convenient, safe, social, and great for staying connected — but it’s also very expensive, and the condition of the room I received in September did not match the price. UH should make sure that rooms booked months in advance are properly maintained before students move in, so the experience matches what students are paying for.
