I am actually pursuing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the University of Hertfordshire as a postgraduate intake in January 2026 and have found that living in university accommodation has really helped with the transition into an intensive course of study. The course is quite challenging, especially in the areas of machine learning and robotics integration, but the lab work and project components help to make it seem more application-oriented and less theoretical. The lecturers are quite accessible when it comes to talking about research ideas, which is helpful at the master’s level, and the Learning Resources Centre has been a lifesaver during times of intense assignment work. While living in university accommodation has helped to alleviate travel stress and make group work and networking events easier to attend, better communication about response times during busy periods would be helpful. The University of Hertfordshire offers a dedicated and application-oriented environment for postgraduate students who are proactive and motivated, especially in highly competitive areas such as AI.

The place has so many useful and interesting facilities including lots of events. You can find the answers of your questions no matter where you are using university's special application. In addition there are nice accommodation opportunities on campus.

One of the best parts of my university experience has been the personal growth and independence I’ve developed. I’ve also enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds, which has broadened my perspective and improved my communication skills. One of the more challenging aspects has been balancing coursework, deadlines, and personal responsibilities.

The lecturers and academic staff are knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable, often bringing professional experience into teaching, which enhances learning. The university’s modern facilities, including well-equipped labs, digital learning platforms, and library resources, create a productive study environment. Additionally, the diverse student community fosters cultural exchange and inclusivity, helping international students feel welcomed. Career support services, such as CV workshops and employability events, further contribute to making it a strong place to study and prepare for future careers. Worst aspects / areas for improvement One of the main challenges is the cost and availability of accommodation, particularly on-campus housing, which can be financially difficult for many students. Improving affordability and flexibility in accommodation contracts would greatly enhance student wellbeing. Communication between different university departments can also sometimes be slow or unclear, especially regarding administrative processes. Streamlining support services and improving response times would reduce student stress. Finally, while wellbeing services are available, mental health support could be expanded with shorter waiting times and more proactive outreach, especially for international and postgraduate students adjusting to a new environment. Overall suggestion The University of Hertfordshire is a great place to study due to its strong academic quality, employability focus, and inclusive community. By improving accommodation affordability, administrative efficiency, and mental health support, the overall student experience could be significantly enhanced.
