This is achieved through focussing specifically on the following:The need to consider implementation issues to successfully effect service transformation.The importance of a user-centred approach in which user considerations are placed at the centre of technological shifts to avoid healthcare exclusion.Innovation and entrepreneurship in health technology development and application.The programme themes of transformation, user-centred approach, and innovation run through modules making up this programme of study.Course detailsIn this programme you will: Address the use of healthcare technologies as a key challenge in society, appreciating policy and practice contexts.Consider barriers and facilitators to healthcare technology utilization to improve healthcare experiences and outcomes.Comprehend the importance of innovation and leadership in healthcare technology development and implementation to successfully effect change.Develop appropriate communication approaches to influence engagement. Core knowledge and understanding is acquired through lectures, tutorials, group work and guided independent learning and assessed through coursework.
The entry requirement for this course is a Bachelor (Honours) Degree at a 2:2 or above in a subject related to nursing, midwifery, or allied health professions (e.g., Occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, radiography.
