Course overviewIf you are studying chiropractic already but would prefer to obtain a BSc and MSc for registration in your home country or want a fuller research experience from your education to propel you into postgraduate research then the MSc Chiropractic course was designed for you. This two-year full-time degree allows current chiropractic students to transfer from their course at the end of the third year of study (equivalent to achieving a BSc qualification) to complete a full master of science degree. Some international students require this qualification to practice in their home country and so we have designed this route to support you.In a modern healthcare profession it is vital that you have the technical knowledge and a wide range of transferable skills including critical thinking, research skills, IT skills, communication skills and the ability to undertake continuing professional development, so we provide a blended teaching and learning approach to encourage you to develop as independent learners. Our mix of traditional and innovative learning and teaching methods, such as seminars, workshops, tutorials, practical skills classes, e-learning, videos, quizzes and self-directed study, are combined to provide you with the best learning experience. As part of the MSc Chiropractic course you will undertake an invaluable clinical placement under the supervision, guidance and support of a multidisciplinary team where you will continue your learning through experiential and reflective clinical practice.During the placement you will manage your own patients, discussing their care with experienced chiropractors who will supervise and guide you. This process will allow you to be challenged and to develop your critical awareness, allowing reflection on your own practice and professional development in light of contemporary clinical research.
Students are normally expected to have successfully met all the learning outcomes at level 6 of the Health Sciences University Master of Chiropractic – MChiro (Hons) course (or an equivalent point within another chiropractic course) with a minimum of 2:2 classification before they may enrol on this course.
