The MSc by Research degree comprises three taught 15-credit units, to be determined in collaboration with your supervisor based on your previous academic background and the proposed research project, and a substantial 135-credit research project. The MSc by Research degree comprises three taught 15-credit units, to be determined in collaboration with your supervisor based on your previous academic background and the proposed research project, and a substantial 135-credit research project. The Coatings and Ceramics research programmes are part of a progressive research area within the Department we have close links with industry and research councils and we work collaboratively with them on many areas of research within the subject. Research activities in this area are concerned with the development, understanding and evaluation of advanced ceramics and coatings. See more about this research area on our website .
