Introduction
Extend your knowledge and develop the skills and expertise you need to provide a high level of clinical autonomy in advanced clinical practice. As a healthcare professional, studying our MSc Advanced Practice (Clinical) will enable you to expand your scope of practice. Our postgraduate course will take you through the four pillars of advanced practice. You’ll explore clinical practice, education, research and leadership and learn how to apply these to a higher level of contemporary and autonomous clinical practice in your field, such as nursing, allied health and pharmacy. Alongside this, you’ll transform your existing academic qualifications into a Masters degree accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (for nurses only).
Clinical practice at an advanced level is a demanding and challenging role. Study part-time in Cambridge or Chelmsford and learn alongside other ARU students with a particular interest in your chosen area of advanced practice. It’s a great opportunity to learn from each other, both in the classroom and online. Together, you’ll explore and apply the current policies, laws and procedures that apply to caring for patients at this advanced level. We’ll encourage you to delve into all areas of your chosen field to extend your knowledge as much as possible. You’ll strengthen your leadership and clinical decision-making skills, as well as your ability to research, making effective use of evidence to support clinical practice.
How you'll be assessed
We’ll assess you in a variety of ways to ensure you are succeeding on the course, this will include OSCEs, portfolios of evidence, essays, online activities, exams and reports.
Careers
Our MSc Advanced Practice (Clinical) is a great way to develop your career, as it’ll provide you with the knowledge and skills to work at a higher level of clinical practice within your region. It’ll equip you to remain in clinical practice, whether this is primary or secondary care.
