Our MRes Creative Practice offers you the chance to deepen and refine your creative practice and knowledge to help take your career in industry or research to the next level.You might be a graduate who is looking to develop and showcase your skills, or returning to education from the world of work to hone a specific area of expertise for your professional development.The practical and project-based nature of the MRes highlights the fact that research skills in creative practice are an essential part of working life. You will design a practice-led or substantial research project around specific interests based on utilising UWL’s facilities.The Townshend Studio offers access to a unique collection of vintage and contemporary synthesisers and samplers. Our cutting-edge recording studios reflect our world-leading research and practice in music production. Our London Noise Records label, distributed by AWAL, provides incredible opportunities for experiential learning and research, and our performance venues range from intimate studio spaces to a full-scale "black-box" theatre/concert hall.You will develop performance, writing, production, management or pedagogical skills and knowledge in a vibrant, creative and nurturing environment supported by our expert staff. This MRes course gives you the opportunity to expand existing skills and make a substantial contribution to emerging trends in creative research and practice. In addition, you will produce a portfolio of public-facing and promotional material that communicates your conclusions, knowledge and skills to the industry, general public and the research community.
