Overview
Business and Management (BAM) is home to an intimate and burgeoning community of research active academics and doctoral students who want to tackle issues of national and international significance. Our team of experienced and upcoming researchers have published widely in areas such as thriving and resilience at work and workplace/management education; tourism and destination development and management; marketing communications and brand management; and enterprise, leadership, and management. Our community holds numerous international journal editorships in these areas and our doctoral students hold significant responsibility nationally.
Doctoral research at BAM aspires to tackle national and international issues relevant to real managers in real organisations. Our two Professional Doctorates are increasingly popular with senior professionals who want to be recognised for making a difference: our Chester DBA is for successful MBA graduates and our Chester DProf is for successful master’s graduates in a range of specialised fields. BAM also hosts PhD students on issues of national or international significance. We welcome applications from talented senior professionals who feel they can contribute to our selective community.
To be eligible to apply for an MPhil or PhD programmes, applicants should normally have, or expect to obtain, at least an upper second class honours degree in a discipline appropriate to their intended area of research.
