Since launching the UK’s first Motorsport Engineering degree in 1998, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), Swansea, has built a strong motorsport industry reputation. This postgraduate programme, the Motorsport Engineering MSc, is designed to equip students with the specialised skills needed to thrive in the competitive world of motorsport. This master’s course combines a range of theoretical and practical elements, giving students both in-depth knowledge and essential hands-on experience. Students will develop expertise in competition vehicles design, engineering and optimisation, gaining the skills needed to create, improve, and analyse high-performance vehicles. UWTSD Swansea is committed to offering students a comprehensive understanding of the motorsport sector, covering everything from design and build to testing and refining, preparing graduates to be confident, capable engineers in the field. A major strength of this course is its focus on motorsport specific projects and motorsport assignments, allowing students to immerse themselves in project-based learning. These projects simulate real industry scenarios, giving students the opportunity to tackle technical challenges and produce innovative solutions. In addition, students will explore a wide array of automotive subjects, providing them with a broader understanding of the field. By building these practical skills and deepening their knowledge of industry practices, graduates will be well-prepared for success in the fast-paced motorsport environment.
Students need 2:2 honours degree or UWTSD recognised equivalent.
