University of Greenwich

The support of the staff at the university has been outstanding. There are countless people to go to for help and support if needed, as well as signposting for wellbeing & counselling. The facilities used at the campus are excellent, as are the lecture theatres and simulation suites. I'm a mature student living at home, therefore cannot comment on the student life in terms of those looking for hobbies and extra-curricular activities. However, the university timetable is completed to allow us a great study/life balance, which would allow for attending social clubs, sports or the pub!

The location (Avery Hill campus) is ideal for those wanting to study at a London university with the option to drive and avoid trains if you have a car. Plenty of buses and transport links otherwise. The library is well stocked and works on a great system including ordering in books from other uni sites. I was automatically awarded £350 (as I am situated in a low-income household) which was brilliant as it supported me to purchase textbooks, stationary, and placement equipment including the expensive but brilliant Littman stethoscope! The clinical skills labs are excellently equipped; we piloted new VR hologram equipment where you could witness a birth including the steps and anatomy which was so cool; a life-like mannequin with functions and behaviours that you programme including contractions, birth, and vitals, and the mannequin talked! Support for those with neurodivergent needs is brilliant, the wellbeing team are really helpful with meeting your needs and helping to gain access to additional support such as disability funding to support your studies or 1-1 tutors. The general areas such as the canteen and cafe are okay, good fresh food including starbucks and costa at reasonable prices but there is sometimes a lack of seating anywhere during peak lunchtime. On-site parking can occasionally be a struggle, I suggest allowing plenty of time to find a spot or parking on nearby streets or Sparrows Farm. Student events such as social night outs are not plentiful at Avery Hill campus, there are much more/better at Medway and Greenwich campuses. Overall it's a great university, it might not be city central but it's a more relaxed environment which I prefer with brilliant, supportive lecturers. I received offers from all 5 of my university choices including the renowned King's; however, I knew they were not great when it comes to support when compared to UoG.

The university campus is smaller than many others and is surrounded by other universities, giving it a good atmosphere. The library is particularly good and there are a few different options for eating although I would say it is relatively pricey for students.

Well I have just joined and on my second week but so far I love it. I love that there is a praying facility available totally love it. The staffs are quite helpful and so kind.

Studying on the Avery hill campus, clean and nice facilities however not many social activities put on. Also Greenwich has stopped many activities that took place online and in person This is both best and worst aspects . Did not do much in the way of Freshers events or free goodies Greenwich offers support for student to succeed in their studies.
