Our MSc Midwifery short course for Registered Nurses is an intensive programme designed to develop your abilities as a professional midwife. We’ll enable you to gain the skills needed to ensure that women, birthing people and families get to enjoy a positive and healthy pregnancy and birth experience. This short course prepares registered nurses to meet the needs of maternity services and transforms graduate nurses into registered midwives with an academic masters. We take a blended learning approach. You’ll spend half your time developing your skills under expert supervision in a clinical setting. The rest of your time will be spent learning the theory in a University environment. As you progress you’ll develop an advanced understanding of the childbirth continuum – from preconception to birth. Why study with us This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Funding is guaranteed on this course for September 2023 entry We are the first university in the UK to be awarded the prestigious UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold Award for our midwifery and health visiting degree programmes, which means they meet the sustainability standards
