Overview
An opportunity for graduates with a non-midwifery undergraduate degree to enter a career in Midwifery as a registrant with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Midwifery is a unique profession, providing a safe, respectful, caring and personalised service to women and their families from conception, antenatal care, labour and into the postpartum period.
Our curriculum is based on a philosophy of active student-centred learning, making use of the real-life context of practice.
Problem-Based learning is designed to support your development into an autonomous learner. This transfers well into clinical practice, thereby promoting research-based contemporary care.
You will develop into a practitioner who is competent and consistently delivers innovative, effective and excellent care.
This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as the statutory body and regulator of nursing and midwifery healthcare professions.
This means that you'll be eligible to apply to join the NMC register as a qualified midwife.
This is a course for graduates who aren't registered with the NMC. If you're already a registered adult nurse, you can retrain as a midwife in half the time with our NMC approved MSc Midwifery Shortened Programme.
Applicants with Second Class Honours Lower Division (2:2) or better, in any degree subject, will be considered. Plus minimum of GCSEs with grade C or grade 4, to include English Language, Mathematics, and Biology or Combined Science. Level 2 equivalencies are accepted.
