Then our Mental Health: Research and Practice MSc is the degree for you.Our course will provide you with a balance between learning the latest theories, models and approaches in mental health and developing the skills needed to conduct key research in the field.You’ll be taught at a research-intensive university by clinical and academic experts, ensuring you are hearing about the latest scientific and clinical developments in the field.As part of your degree, you will have the opportunity to conduct your own research project, under supervision from an expert. Previous projects have focused on dementia, cognitive psychology and neuroimaging, adult mental health (including depression, anxiety and psychosis) and neurodevelopmental disorders.Projects also include a range of methodologies spanning quantitative and qualitative methods, assessments and interventions, and are aligned with clinical questions and priorities. This degree sets the foundation for a strong career in mental health, whether you wish to study mental health further in a PhD, pursue clinical psychology training, or move into employment in mental health sectors after completing the MSc. Our graduates work in a range of roles such as Assistant Psychologist positions in the NHS or private sector, Research Assistant positions, healthcare worker roles, and PhD studentships.78.4% of postgraduates from the School of Medicine secured graduate level employment or further study within 15 months of graduation (HESA Graduate Outcomes 2019/20 data published in 2022. The Graduate Outcomes % is derived using The Guardian University Guide methodology)
