Our BSc (Hons) Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry degree not only offers a firm grounding in general chemistry, research methods and laboratory techniques, but also provides the specialist skills and understanding youll need to pursue a future in pharmaceutical chemistry. Weve developed the course with the pharmaceutical industry in mind – ensuring that our curriculum covers all the skills and strengths that employers demand, and that our placements offer the practical experience on which you can build a career. Youll focus on areas like drug testing and efficacy, drug design, including computer-based drug design, drug action mechanisms and the quality control of pharmaceuticals – equipping you for a role in the drug discovery industry.

A medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry degree opens the door to varied career opportunities in sectors that include the fine chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, environmental monitoring, food and drink, materials, utility, aerospace, automotive, information technology and telecommunications.
