A pivotal component of my positive experience at Bournemouth University has been the exemplary support provided by the Student Union, known as SUBU. This entity transcends the conventional role of a student union, offering a comprehensive array of support services. From financial assistance and accommodation guidance to educator support and mental health resources, SUBU is a one-stop solution for the diverse needs of the student body. The inclusion of support for various communities, including religious and cultural affiliations, underscores the commitment to inclusivity. The presence of student representatives and ambassadors further fortifies the support system, ensuring that students have a voice and assistance in navigating the challenges of university life. The collaborative efforts of SUBU and its affiliates create a nurturing environment that fosters both academic and personal well-being. However, in the spirit of constructive feedback, there are areas where improvements could be considered. Language proficiency among staff, particularly those with an international background, has occasionally presented a barrier to effective communication. While the diversity of the faculty is an asset, efforts to enhance language proficiency could contribute to a more seamless learning experience. Additionally, the current limitation of entrepreneur funds and business startup course funds to UK residents poses a constraint for international students. Recognizing the global nature of contemporary business endeavors, it would be beneficial to create arrangements that extend these opportunities to the international student community, facilitating their entrepreneurial aspirations. In conclusion, my tenure at Bournemouth University has been characterized by a synergy of positive attributes that have enriched my academic and personal growth.

I think BU is very good at taking care of international students. They have a lot of events and staff to support us here. I think what could be improved is Placement program since there are not much choice that related to my field. Providing that should be really helpful.

The location of Bournemouth University is amazing, as the beach has a long coastline which I enjoy visiting to watch the sunrise and people watching as I cannot swim. The facilities on campus are great, I like the sustainability and accessibility enshrined in every space. The University's communication with students is excellent unless you have a challenge reading emails, you should get a minimum of 5 a day. I must also say, I noticed excellent communication from the moment I started my application process. They also share amazing opportunities with the student. The website of the university is very rich in soft skills and if you are not careful, you will spend each day going from one masterclass to another. The student population is quite diverse considering its location. There are people from all races and countries. It's also inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community. The student body is quite strong and they have a lineup of excellent programs for acclimatizing to student life and a new country. They also offer a variety of support concerning student welfare. The academia is quite diverse which makes learning rich and international students more comfortable as they can see themselves in their tutors. The scholarship opportunities for international students and the less privileged are quite lean. Although the University has one of the lowest international student fees in the country. It will be great if this can get more funding. The University is biased toward research, so if you are looking forward to research postgraduate studies, Bournemouth University may be the place for you.

Best aspects would be nightlife and location, the town centre is lovely during the day and for a night out. Worst aspects would be sometimes (this is course dependant) it can come off as a bit disorganised, especially trying to communicate with Uni staff and the process of getting things done or finding stuff out can sometimes be dragged out for a while with certain staff.
