Our Media Communications and Publishing degree has been designed to enable you to become a highly-skilled, agile and creative communicator. Throughout your studies, you’ll be introduced to all forms of media, such as film, television, social media, books and magazines, and you’ll learn to meet the opportunities and challenges of publishing in the 21st century. You’ll be encouraged to take an innovative approach to your work, whether in print or digital, or in emerging technologies such as immersive media. During the course, you’ll have the chance to work with real clients on marketing campaigns, social media content, magazine and book production, as well as journalistic and feature article writing. You’ll graduate with industry experience and an impressive professional portfolio of work to show prospective employers.The course has been designed with employability in mind, offering the chance to gain the practical skills and experience that will enable you to pursue a career in your chosen field of communications and publishing, whether in books and magazines, social media, marketing, or immersive media. This optional placement year provides you with the opportunity to identify, apply for and secure professional experience, normally comprising one to three placements over a minimum of nine months. Successful completion of this module will demonstrate your ability to secure and sustain graduate-level employment.
