Almost all products have a requirement of a mechanical engineer: from mobile phones, to medical devices to a Formula 1 racing cars. Mechanical engineers use their skills and knowledge in maths and science to design and manufacture new technology that functions efficiently and reliably at an optimised cost. Almost all products have a requirement of a mechanical engineer: from mobile phones, to medical devices to a Formula 1 racing cars. Mechanical engineers are also developing the next generation of environmentally friendly materials and devices for renewable energy sources. The course develops core skills in maths, science and engineering design as well as providing education in the use of key engineering software essential for mechanical engineers in the 21st century.
