This Mechanical Engineering degree focuses on industry-relevant topics to reflect the needs of today’s employers. It gives you the opportunity to build a successful career in the design, engineering and manufacturing sectors. You'll gain knowledge of scientific and engineering principles and take a flexible approach towards new ideas and developments. You will hone your practical skills by using our industry-standard equipment and software for computer-aided engineering design, manufacture, analysis and failure investigations. Increased emphasis is placed on sustainable engineering, establishing you as an attractive candidate to prospective employers. BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. The accredited BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering meets, in part, the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer and students will need to complete an approved format of further learning pursuant to the requirements of UK-SPEC. The accredited BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering also automatically meets in full, the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). The accredited MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering fully meets the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements, for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
