This unique Masters programme in collaboration with our partners GSL Dental College (India) and the University of Dundee, aims to fill an existing gap in the training of Dentists worldwide. Integrating Dental Public Health with your clinical training will support you in developing your employability skills to respond to wider and complex health/oral health issues in society.
By combining Dental Public Health in clinical dentistry, you will learn how to undertake much needed health surveillance, have raised awareness of how to identify and tackle inequalities, move towards more upstream approaches for prevention and health promotion, and empower individuals and communities to improve their oral health by anticipatory guidance and health coaching.
The course, which starts at GSL Dental College, utilises existing clinical programmes delivered by GSL Dental College as well as Dental Public Health modules delivered by the School of Dentistry and the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee. An experienced interdisciplinary staff team deliver the programme in Dundee, where you will be taught by subject experts in social psychology, healthcare communication, health services research, and Specialists in Dental Public Health, including Consultants.
Certified completion of B.A.S.I.C.S and L.I.F.E. clinical dental programmes at GSL will be Recognised as Prior Learning (RPL) equivalent to 60 credits at SCQF Level 11 prior to the students transferring to the School of Dentistry, University of Dundee to complete 7 modules in Dental Public Health.
Successful Completion of a degree or 3 year/NQF level 5 diploma equivalent, or a minimum of 15 years education.
