About mathematics at the University of NottinghamThe first year of this accredited degree gives you a flavour of the different areas of mathematics on offer. You will cover topics spanning applied mathematics, pure mathematics, statistics and probability. You will work individually and in groups to solve real-world problems using advanced theories and techniques. It helps you to decide what you enjoy and if there are areas in which you want to specialise.
