The best part of my uni experience was the faculty support and practical learning approach. Professors were always approachable, and the curriculum helped me understand real-world applications, not just theory. The campus environment was also great for networking and meeting students from different cultures. One area that could be improved is the class schedule — offering more flexibility would help students manage time better. More hands-on industry projects and workshops would also make the learning even stronger. Overall, it’s a place that truly helps you grow academically and personally.

University is overall good with the best World Class faculty having real life experiences with businesses so they know how to tackle in real life and that's what we learn even out of the textbooks. There are several activities including academics, let's take sort of competitions where we represent our University and Faculty does support us to do it properly. Then comes cultural events and others so we enjoy both studies and life.

The best part it is everyone within the university. Everyone is so friendly when you put yourself out there to talk to them. There are a few shy nuts, but generally most people are willing to help. The support from the faculty is just amazing.

So many different study spaces keep it interesting and very easy to meet different people to catch up and relax or to work hard as different spaces for different things

I am currently on my second year studying at Heriot-Watt University but decided after first year that I wanted to change my course as it did not feel like it was the right thing for me. The departments in both my old course and the mathematics department, of which I am now a part of, couldn't have been more helpful and put myself at ease during a rather difficult decision and transition. With the maths department there is so much support with both lecturers and the others that take the course too and are never left feeling like you are alone. There are multitudes of study spaces so no matter what kind of space you are looking for, a quiet room, group study space, somewhere with an atmosphere around it, there is always something for you to find. The student facilities are great as well and extremely welcoming. The student shop is open until 10pm everyday so you're not without some necessities for long if you are either living on campus or are having a long day of studying there, an the student union which has a cafe and a bar with kitchen is always a great place to be able to relax for a little while or have a bit of time out with some friends. This is open from 9am till late every day. So, there is always something to do, this is especially useful as one downside to Heriot-Watt is the location. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful sight and I love the quietness of it as that is more of what I am used to over the big city life, however, the university is just that little bit out of the way and makes it slightly more awkward for getting in and out of central. The buses are great, but regardless of how well the buses may be it can still take up to an hour to get in to the city centre depending the time of day and the traffic. But like it said, that is only one downfall in oppose to the many, many positives of which there are at Heriot-Watt University.
