In this course you’ll study in an intellectually stimulating environment, where you can follow your own mathematical interests by choosing from a wide range of advanced topics in both pure and applied mathematics. You’ll develop your research skills and explore in depth an area of your choice in your MSc dissertation, supported by one of our expert faculty.
Our research at Sussex plays an important role in the current development of areas as diverse as:

numerical analysis and scientific computing
probability and statistics.
You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Subject-specific requirements: Your qualification should be in mathematics (including joint degrees) or in a subject with substantial mathematics content. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
